Amna is goal oriented, ambitious and enthusiastic. In school she is a member of the National Honors Society, Muslim Student Association, debate team, athletic training and student counsel. Amna holds the positions of MSA president and class counsel treasurer. In her community, she helps out with Masjid Shuhada's Sunday school and other events going on at the Masjid throughout the year. She has grown up attending the Masjid with her family and it is a vital part of who she is today. Amna has had several accomplishments during her high school years. She saw a need to unify the Muslim teens and started the very first Muslim Student Association club at her school. Amna has also hosted events for the annual World Hijab day. She has won a first and second place title at the Muslim Interscholastic Tournament with Rutgers MSA students during competitions at the Regional tournament. Amna's greatest strength as a student and as a Muslimah is her undeniable courage. She has the ability to stand up and represent for herself and her religion. She has proven to be a star student, volunteer and leader. Her ambition strikes all those who she meets, with its prominence in her personality. She is a role model for her peers as well as her siblings. When Amna wants to do something, she works for it and accomplishes it. As one of the only hijabis in her high school, Amna's integrity is shown through her willingness to approach ignorance with kindness and be able to teach people rather than to conform to their standards. This is a trait she plans to continue with throughout her life InShaAllah. Amna's will be going to Rutgers in the fall InShaAllah, to pursue a double degree major in political science and journalism. She is hoping to use her degree to bring awareness to social issues effecting undeserved regions. May Allah allow Amna to continue to inspire people and make a difference in this world one step at a time.
